1. OK, what if I simply trim the project to the problematic clip ?

2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it's precisely the clip you have. Can you check ?

Well it's not the case here......... I'm puzzled.

In order to figure out why this is happening, we need to be able to see it happen on our systems here.

Can you please create a small project using a minimal amount of clips that exhibits this issue and then provide that to us. We will need the fcpxml and all the clips used in the project, which is why smaller is better. In order to get a small project, it might be easiest to duplicate an existing project and trim before/after a point where the issue occurs. As well as providing the fcpxml and the clips, please provide step by step instructions of what you do and where in the sequence the audio goes wrong with time codes or seconds..

Yes absolutely.

In that case we will need to look at the RED clip here. The error message tells us that the clip is called "A001_C006_032668", but if that isn't enough information, I can tell you a file name and location if you attach your FCPXML.

Graeme

First of all thanks for your help.

Indeed there is a PORTION of that clip that is retimed. But that's only a few seconds, and I've made a cut to isolate that part: the parts surrounding it are not retimed.

Can it cause the issue ?

Also, can it explain that following problem?

I'm having an additional problem: if I uncheck the TRIM option, I get an error creating the AAF:
Writing AAF file
Adding assets to AAF file
Adding essence for asset [A001_C006_032668] to AAF file
Adding essence data to AAF file for portion 0 of asset [A001_C006_032668]
Reading audio data from audio extractor : 308674 samples
Failed to read 308674 samples
Error Requested 308674 samples from RED file but got 298665

I'm not able to convert the project without all the clips, but I've synchronised all 3 WAVs with one of the RED clips. When I export that, run it through X2Pro and open it in Pro Tools, there is no delay/echo. Would you expect me to see a different result?

I notice that in your original FCPXML, there are 11 clips that have been retimed. X2Pro doesn't support retimed clips (they will be put in the AAF at their original speed). This isn't causing the echo/delay, is it?

Dear Graeme

It's probably the same for you but I'm uploading the latest XML just in case, because i've been working on the film in the meantime.

The download has worked this time. It's near the end of the day now, so I don't think I'll have any news for you until tomorrow.

I got a 21GB dmg this time, but OS X couldn't open it. On closer inspection the file must have gotten corrupted during the download, so I'm trying again.

Sorry for this delay.

Hi Graeme

Did you have the time to check where the problem came from ?

Is it realistic to count on your help in a reasonable timeframe, so I can send the project to the designer ?

Thank you so much!
Emmanuel
