Dear Vicsandr,
Is it possible that the project originated on an older version of FCPX and finished off on a newer version ? Just a thought.
Yours sincerely
James

Thanks James. I'll try it out and let you know. I am a tad puzzled though, The fcpxml was generated from my project in Final Cut Pro 10.3.1. I am at loss to understand why Final Cut Pro X would create a bad/unusable fcpxml file. Is there some detail that could elucidate the problem? Something that I could post on the Radar at Apple? Please advise. Thanks — vicsandr.

Dear Vicsandr,
The issue with your XMl is that it has been badly created, if you tried to import it back into FCPX it will fail. There are clips listed that have no reference in the XML, we have run your XML through a little application that strips these clips with no references out of the fcpxml, the resultant fcpxml can be imported into FCPX and can be processed by X2Pro. If you compare the two XMLs you will be able to see the lines that have been removed.
Hope the above helps.
Yours Sincerely
James

I too am receiving this error
"Unable to parse FCP XML file to obtain project information"
Suggestions:
- Ensure that the file is not locked by another application and is readable;
- Ensure that this is a valid FCP XML file from a released version of FCP X;
- Ensure that this is the export of a Project, not of a Library or Event;
- Ensure that this is not an empty project (or that all audio is disabled);
X2Pro Audio Convert 4.0.11
Hard disk paths where media for the project resides is indicated in the preferences.
Please advise.
Thanks.

Dear Slav,
There are hundreds of files that we cannot access, can you please check that you can indeed see media at:
Volumes/Raid5/CFD/CFD FCX/XML REIMPORT.fcpbundle/TIMELINE ONLINE/Original%20Media/
And just using one example can you check that the following file does indeed exist there IMG_6740.mov.
If you can then can you please add the above location in X2Pro's preferences.
Please advise.
Yours sincerely
James

Dear Slav,
Apologies I missed your attachment, the error message you had without re-linking clearly shows that the software is unable to read the media 4CH012I.wav because it cannot find the path to it.
Options are to add the location where the wav file exists into X2Pro's Preferences/Media Locations or to remove the instance of the wav file in the sequence.
It might be worthwhile doing the above first before considering the upgrade path to use the force create AAF option.
Please advise.
Yours sincerely
James

Dear Slav,
Yes there is that additional functionality in the Pro version, unfortunately we cannot give it away as it is licenced through the App Store, you would need to purchase the upgrade and if you weren't happy with it you would need to approach the App Store for a refund.
Yours Sincerely
James

I have X2ProLE Audio Convert
I saw in preferences that there is option that if an error occurs, to generate a warning and continue creating an aaf, but its greyed out.
can you send me the pro version to see if that solves the matter better?
best
